Product Introduction
CHAOEN Elevator Cabin & Retail Cladding is a 10-12 mm aluminium honeycomb wall panel built for surfaces the public physically touches. It carries a thicker 1.0 mm face skin than ceiling cladding, plus an anti-scratch clear coat, because lift car walls and shop interiors take keys, trolley wheels, luggage corners and shoulder contact all day. The honeycomb core spreads impact across many cells rather than denting at the point of contact, and at about 5.8 kg per square metre the lining stays well inside the car weight limits that constrain lift refurbishment work.
Detailed Description
A thicker skin where it matters. Ceiling panels use a 0.5 mm face because nothing touches them. This panel uses 1.0 mm plus an anti-scratch clear coat because everything touches it. That is the difference between a wall that still looks new after two years in a busy lift and one that is covered in swirl marks.
Impact spread, not dented. A painted steel or laminate lining dents locally when a trolley corner hits it. The honeycomb core under the aluminium face distributes that load across many cells, so the surface stays flat instead of taking a permanent dimple.
Weight matters in a lift car. Every lift has a car weight allowance, and heavy stone or glass linings eat into the rated payload. At around 5.8 kg per square metre this panel lets a designer use a full-height metal finish without a mechanical uprating of the lift.
Graffiti and marks wipe off. The clear coat over the metal finish is non-porous, so marker, scuffs and hand grease clean off with normal cleaning agents instead of soaking into the finish - the usual failure of powder-coated and laminated linings in public areas.
Repairable panel by panel. Panels fix on concealed clip rails or direct adhesive and can be taken off individually, so a damaged section in a lift car or shopfront is swapped overnight without stripping the whole wall.
Finishes that read as premium metal. Brushed stainless look, hairline gold, dark bronze, mirror polish and titanium grey are all available, with chemical etched, embossed or laser cut patterns for feature walls. Wood grain and solid colours run on the same panel platform.
Non-combustible in an enclosed space. A lift car is a sealed shaft and a station concourse is an escape route, so material fire behaviour is scrutinised. This panel is A2 class with zero formaldehyde emission and no organic core to contribute smoke.

FAQ
Q1: How is this different from your ceiling cladding panel?
A1: Face skin thickness and surface protection. Ceiling panels are 7-9 mm with a 0.5 mm face because nobody touches them. This is 10-12 mm with a 1.0 mm face and an anti-scratch clear coat, because lift and retail walls are contact surfaces. Weight goes from about 3.2 to 5.8 kg per square metre.
Q2: Is it light enough for a lift car refurbishment?
A2: Yes, that is the main reason it is specified. At about 5.8 kg per square metre a full-height lining adds far less to the car dead load than stone, glass or solid stainless, so the existing lift rating is normally unaffected. Confirm the allowance with your lift contractor.
Q3: Will keys and trolleys scratch it?
A3: The anti-scratch clear coat over a brushed metal finish resists the everyday marks that show instantly on painted steel and mirror stainless. Brushed and hairline finishes also hide light marking far better than mirror polish, so for the busiest cars we recommend brushed.
Q4: Can graffiti be removed?
A4: Yes. The coated surface is non-porous, so marker and scuffs clean off with standard cleaning agents. For deliberately vandalised areas, individual panels can also be replaced rather than refinishing the whole cabin.
Q5: How are panels fixed?
A5: Concealed clip rails or direct adhesive to a prepared substrate. Clip fixing is preferred where panels may need to come off for access or replacement; adhesive suits flat solid backgrounds where the lining is permanent.
Q6: Can you do etched or patterned feature panels?
A6: Yes. Chemical etching, embossing and laser-cut patterns are all available on the metal finishes, which is common for lift car back walls and retail feature walls. Send your artwork at enquiry.
Q7: What is the maximum panel size?
A7: 1500 x 3000 mm. Most lift car walls are covered in one or two panels per side at that size, which keeps joint lines to a minimum. Cut-to-size is standard - send the cabin setting-out drawing.
Q8: Is it suitable for metro and airport areas?
A8: Yes. A2 non-combustible with zero formaldehyde suits escape routes and enclosed public circulation, and the impact and scratch performance is why it is used in high-footfall transport interiors.
Q9: Can it be cleaned with wet methods?
A9: Yes. The panel is all aluminium with zero water absorption, so wet cleaning and disinfection cause no swelling or edge damage.
Q10: What is the MOQ and lead time?
A10: 500 square meters per colour or finish. Lead time is confirmed at order depending on finish, pattern work and panel schedule. Free samples are supplied before order.
