Plywood is an engineered wood panel made by bonding multiple thin layers (plies or veneers) of wood under high heat and pressure, with the grain direction of adjacent layers rotated 90° to each other (cross-graining). Fabrication Guidelines

 

Cutting: carbide-tipped saw blades (60–80 teeth cross-cut, 24–40 teeth rip). Score the cut line to avoid face veneer tear-out. Use zero-clearance insert on table saw for clean results.
Sanding: 120–180 grit for edges; 180–220 grit before finishing.
Fixing: coarse-thread wood screws with pilot holes near edges; ring-shank nails for framing; PVA glue for interior joinery.
Edge Banding: PVC / ABS / wood veneer with hot-melt adhesive for finished edges.
Finishing: primer + paint, clear lacquer, or oil; seal all edges and faces for exterior use.
